Forest Hills of DC is pleased to present a seminar on Physical, Occupational and Speech therapy during Covid -2020 that addresses the challenges and opportunities of rehabilitation during Covid-19.
Occupational Therapist, Jenna Bateman has worked for Forest Hills, as our Director of Rehabilitation. Mrs. Bateman, has a degree in Occupational Therapy and a Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration and Business Management. She has been in the healthcare field for over 16 years. In her personal life she is a wife and loving mother of 3 children.
Having worked for insurance companies, Mrs. Bateman has an advanced knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid. As part of our interdisciplinary team she brings insight to family care plans, counseling and education to residents, family, and staff.
As a specialist in geriatrics in a Skilled Nursing setting, she has studied the various medical conditions that impact our elders in our community such as Dementia, Parkinson’s, and Cardiac conditions. She also specializes in wheelchair management and positioning and the use of several modalities to assist in pain management, contractures, and re-education of muscles after a cardiac occurrence.
Mrs. Bateman will also talk about what changes therapists are doing to accommodate people’s needs during therapy while maintaining a Covid-safe environment.
