Art Campaign Uplifting Older Adults Goes Live Sept. 27th and 28th!

Forest Hills of DC is excited to share that we have received generous funding from AARP to support a temporary public art initiative in partnership with Art Against Ageism, an organization that creates artistic endeavors that tackle ageism.

Titled “See Me, Hear Me: The Art of Living,” the exhibit will feature portraits of Forest Hills residents and staff captured by well-known Washington, D.C. photographer, Marvin Bowser. The portraits will be turned into biodegradable prints that will be wheat-pasted to the outside of the Forest Hills building creating a large-scale mural that will be illuminated and open to the public during Art All Night, a city-wide art festival, September 27th and 28th.

The companion “See Me, hear Me: The Art of Living” digital exhibit is below and includes stories for each resident and staff portrait which were collected throughout this summer.
