Art Campaign Uplifting Older Adults Goes Live Sept. 28th!

Forest Hills of DC is excited to share that we have received generous funding from AARP to support a temporary public art initiative in partnership with Art Against Ageism, an organization that creates artistic endeavors that tackle ageism.

Titled “See Me, Hear Me: The Art of Living,” the exhibit will feature photos of Forest Hills residents and staff captured by well-known Washington, D.C. photographer, Marvin Bowser. The photos will be turned into biodegradable murals that will be wheat-pasted to the outside of the Forest Hills campus and each photo will be accompanied by a story from interviews conducted with residents and staff throughout this summer.

In partnership with Art Against Ageism, the physical art installation will go up on the Forest Hills building on September 21st. Then, in conjunction with Tenleytown Main Street, the exhibit will be open to the public on September 28th during DC Art All Night, a city-wide festival. Read our full press release here.

Stay tuned to the Forest Hills of DC website as this exhibit goes public on Sept. 28th and our website will be updated to feature the murals and interviews!
