A Transplant Journey With Help From Forest Hills of DC: Eva’s Story

Tina Sandri, CEO of Forest Hills of DC, welcomed her first liver transplant patient. This wasn’t just any patient, it was her mom, Eva Kao. After Eva’s successful liver transplant surgery and rehabilitation, she was not quite ready to be safely discharged home. Luckily for her, her daughter run’s one of Washington, D.C.’s oldest assisted living and skilled nursing facilities. Eva was Forest Hills’ first transplant patient. The MedStar Georgetown care team was so impressed with Eva’s continued recovery at Forest Hills that they now partner with Forest Hills to provide additional support to transplant patients.
